According to the “Guideline on the Keeping of Significant Controllers Register”, it states company must appoint at least one local person as a representative of the company. 

What is the role of a Local Representative?

The main role of the Local Representative is to provide assistance related to the company’s Significant Controller Representative (SCR) to a law enforcement officer. 

Who can be a Local Representative?

  1. The Local Representative must be a member, director or an employee of the company. And
  2. The appointed Local Representative must be a natural person resident in Hong Kong. Or a company service provider licensee.

What is a Local Representative Service?

Regarding the “Guideline on the Keeping of Significant Controllers Register” and the restrictions of the appointed SCR. In fact, the entrepreneurs started their offshore business in Hong Kong while they are staying in their own countries. And they don’t employ any person in Hong Kong.
