Trademark Classifications in Hong Kong: Class 11 to 15

  • Class 11
    Apparatus for lighting, heating, steam generating, cooking, refrigerating, drying, ventilating, water supply and sanitary purposes.
    This Class includes, in particular: air conditioning apparatus; bed warmers, hot water bottles, warming pans, electric or non-electric; electrically heated cushions (pads) and blankets, not for medical purposes; electric kettles; electric cooking utensils.
    This Class does not include, in particular: steam producing apparatus; electrically heated clothing.
    Examples of companies and products:
    Daikin Airconditioning (Hong Kong) Limited – air conditioner.
    Hitachi, Ltd. – refrigerator.
  • Class 12
    Vehicles; apparatus for locomotion by land, air or water.
    This Class includes motors and engines for land vehicles; couplings and transmission components for land vehicles; air cushion vehicles.
    This Class does not include certain special vehicles not for transportation purposes; certain parts of vehicles; railway material of metal; motors, engines, couplings and transmission components other than for land vehicles; parts of motors and engines (of all kinds).
    Examples of companies and products:
    Mercedes-Benz – cars.
    The Boeing Company – aircrafts.
  • ·    Class 13
    Firearms; ammunition and projectiles, explosives; fireworks.
    This class includes mainly firearms and pyrotechnical products.
    This Class does not include matches.
    Examples of companies and products:
    Liuyang China Supreme Fireworks – fireworks.
    Norinco – firearms, ammunition etc.
  • Class 14
    Precious metals and their alloys and goods in precious metals or coated therewith, not included in other classes; jewellery, precious stones; horological and chronometric instruments.
    This includes mainly precious metals, goods in precious metals not included in other classes and, in general jewellery, clocks and watches.
    This Class does not include, in particular: goods in precious metals classified according to their function or purpose.
    Examples of companies and products:
    Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited – Jewellery.
    Chow Sang Sang Holdings International Limited – Jewellery.
  • Class 15
    Musical instruments.
    This Class includes, in particular: mechanical pianos and their accessories; musical boxes; electrical and electronic musical instruments.
    This Class does not include apparatus for recording, transmission, amplification and reproduction of sound.
    Examples of companies and products:
    Fender Musical Instruments Corporation – Electronic musical instruments.
    Yamaha Corporation – Electronic musical instruments.
