Why do we like and respect certain people? They usual answer is “oh, they are nice”!
But what does “nice” actually mean?
For most of us, niceness depends on three main qualities, that our subconscious mind picks up on.
They are:
Empathy
Empathy is the ability to relate to others: their thinking, problems, concerns and ideas. No wonder this quality is so appreciated in business leaders – it opens the doors to communication.
Reliability
Known that you can count on someone is an indispensible feature in any working environment. Reliable people are at the core of each organization’s structure and we seek out this quality not only in our career, but also personal lives.
Integrity
This is where it all comes together. Without integrity, even highly capable and intelligent people will not bring benefit to the organization. As investor Warren Buffett said, “In looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence and energy. And if they don’t have the first, the other two will kill you.”
