2ND ROUND OF EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SCHEME APPLICCATION DETAILS ANNOUNCED

The Hong Kong Government has announced the application details for the 2nd payment instalment of Employment Support Scheme (ESS). Eligible employers may submit their applications for the 2nd tranche wage subsidies from 31st August to 13th September 2020.

Submit New Application

Employers who previously applied for the 1st tranche of the wage subsidies for wages paid from June to August 2020. Employers must submit a NEW APPLICATION. ESS will not automatic apply for you.

Quick apply for the previous applicant

If applicants choose the same “specified month” as the 1st tranche in the application for the 2nd tranche of subsides. Then applicants can type in the previous application number, password and mobile number to logon the application webpage for the 2nd tranche. And then the application webpage will automatically display information submitted for the 1st tranche of application. So, applicant can just simply check with the information is correct or not.

Difference from previous application

If applicant choose a different “specified month” from the 1st tranche. Applicant should follow the instructions in the online application form to upload documents and update information. For example, providing additional MPF account information.

Difference bank account information

Applicant cannot change the bank account information in the online application form. If applicants need to amend the information of the bank account information due to special circumstances. Applicant should login to the Employment Support Scheme Application Service Portal. According to the instructions in the online application form, and upload the relevant bank statement or other related supporting documents for verification and follow up.

CENTRE O – PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST CORONAVIRUS

3rd ROUND ANTI-EPIDEMIC FUND : EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SCHEME

Ahead of the Executive Council meeting on August 18. Chief Executive Carrie Lam says the Government will launch the third round of Anti-epidemic Fund and the second Round Employment Support Scheme (ESS) to safeguard jobs in Hong Kong.

2nd Round Employment Support Scheme

Subsequently, the new round of ESS starts application on 31st August and the application deadline is 13th September. The scheme covers 3-month salary subsidy from September to November.

Supermarket Discount

Government imposed a condition for two leading local supermarkets: Wellcome and Park’n Shop. After their application for second round ESS. They have to provide customers with price reduction discounts in various aspects from September to November. Otherwise, both supermarkets have to provide special offer such as cash coupon to low income group or NGOs.

Property Management Company 

In addition, ESS also requires more than 20 large property management companies to return at least 80% of the second-round subsidies received to the property owners or owners’ corporations.

Elderly Employees

Right of Abode in Hong Kong entitles a person to live and work in the territory without any restrictions or conditions of stay. If you have an entrepreneur visa and you resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of at least seven years.   • The ROP 145 and ROP 146 application forms.
  • Statement of Travel Records (HKID Form ID697).
  • Proof of 7 years continuous ordinary residence in Hong Kong immediately before the date of application for permanent resident status.
  • Passport showing entry to Hong Kong and the current condition of stay in Hong Kong.
  • A full copy all passports held during the previous 7-year period.
  • Copies of salaries tax returns for the last 7 years in Hong Kong
  • Copies of utilities bills, bank and credit card statements and other papers which attest to a consistent period of residence in Hong Kong for the requisite 7 years.
  • A copy of your Hong Kong Identity Card.

How long does the application take?

Normally it takes about 3 months upon receipt of all necessary documents.

Under what circumstance you will to lose the status of a permanent resident?

If you are absent from Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than 36 months. Then this means you are no longer to have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong.
