Choosing a company name in Hong Kong is free. The government allows the names to contain words such as international, group, holding, industry, investment.
However, Company ordinance provides that a company name will not be registered in the following situations: the name has already appeared in the Registrar’s index of company names or the name is the same of a body corporate established under an ordinance. Some wordings are considered to be the same “Company” and “and Company”; “Hong Kong” and “HK”; “FarEast” and “FE”.
