Youth Employment Start (Y.E.S.) provides support services on employment and self-employment to youngsters aged between 15 and 29. It provides support to young people to start their career on right track, enhance their employability, facilitate them to access the latest labour market information and help them secure a firm footing in the labour market for sustainable development in Hong Kong.

Can you Multi- Task??

Most of us suffer from multitasking almost daily. Once you get used to doing it, it’s almost impossible not to. It is so hard to stop multitasking because we have conditioned our mind and body to feel that thrill. Then we naturally go looking for the thrill by doing even more multitasking.

But it is hard to let go of these habits because we have conditioned our brain to send misleading signals to our body. Research has shown that when we multitask ‘successfully’, we activate the reward mechanism in our brain which releases dopamine, the happy hormone. This dopamine rush makes us feel so good that we believe we are being effective and further encourages our multitasking habit.

Here are a few ideas to help you becoming a super hero in multi-tasking:

–          Dedicate time each week to prioritizing big picture goals for the coming week, month, and quarter.

–          Use reminders to notify you of upcoming tasks due throughout the day.

–          Make it a priority to get everything done that you put on your list done each day.

–          Use your calendar as a “real time” diary of whom you call and what you do in time slots throughout the day.

–          Use your smartphone to dictate reminders, events, and tasks that need to be done as you think about them throughout the day.

Multitasking is focusing on what is important, the key to being amazing is having an amazing plan.

Just because you do more than one thing at a time doesn’t mean you are doing less than your best.

It might just mean that your big goals demand that you do more than everyone else around you.

Working Holiday Visa

“Hi Centre O, I’ve been staying in Hong Kong earlier this year for a few months for a working holiday. When I was out there I also managed to obtain a Hong Kong ID card. I want to join a local Start-up company HK now, and I’m not sure which visa I should be applying for, could you give me some advice?”

Well in this situation they would have two options, depending on his/her role within the company:

  1. If he/her is joining the business as a co-founder, so is down as a director on the Company Registry Registration paperwork filled with the Hong Kong Government, he/her will need to apply for an investment visa
  2.  If he/her is joining the business as an employee, with a signed agreement of an employment contract, he/her will be applying for an employment visa

The company that they will be working for is important when it comes to successfully getting a Hong Kong visa as they will be acting as the clients sponsor, and for this they will need to show:

  • Sufficient resources, meaning that the company will need to have a large amount money available, to show future investment in Hong Kong
  • Sustainable contributions to the Hong Kong economy, by hiring local jobs. The company will have to show that your job can’t be done by a local person, so you’re needed
  • It will also need to have a proper office premises in Hong Kong, the company can just be run out of a home

 

工作假期签证

那么在这种情况下，他们将有两种选择，具体取决于他/她在公司中的角色：
如果他/她以联合创始人的身份加入公司，在香港政府填写的公司注册登记文件中担任董事，他/她将需要申请投资签证
 如果他/她以雇员身份加入企业，并签署了雇佣合同协议，他/她将申请工作签证
在成功获得香港签证方面，他们将要工作的公司是很重要的，因为他们将作为客户的担保人，为此他们需要证明：
资源充足，意味着公司需要有大量可用资金，以显示未来在香港的投资
雇用本地工作岗位，为香港经济作出可持续贡献。公司必须证明本地人无法完成您的工作，因此需要您
还需要在香港有一个合适的办公场所，公司像一个家不会跑掉。

香港工作签证及就业签证

深圳洗牌是指前往香港的游客在其当前签证即将到期时，短途出境前往较近的地方（例如深圳或澳门）进行更新的过程。这允许他们的签证再延长一段时间，具体取决于他们的国籍，最多允许您作为访客逗留90天。然而，这是延长签证的一种非常危险的方式，因为在边境，移民官的工作是确保您是合法访客，如果他们认为您不是，他们可以拒绝您入境或给您一个很少的时间，也许一周，来整理你的事务并离开这个国家。您使用此流程的次数越多，您被拒绝入境的可能性就越大。使用此方法的次数不应超过五次。
如果您决定使用这种更新旅游签证的选项，您必须记得事先获得中国签证，因为您确实需要离开香港才能再次入境，否则您将无法更新签证。

学生签证

要获得学生签证，申请人必须注册在香港学院注册的全日制课程，持有录取通知书，需要当地赞助商（由大学安排）的签名文件，身份证复印件和/或旅行证件，并能够支付课程费用、生活费和住宿费。申请人必须能够在不工作且无需使用公共资金的情况下支付这些费用。在收到所有所需文件后，通常需要六周时间来处理签证或入境许可申请。香港的大学学费介于 150,000 至 200,000 港元之间。如果申请被接受，申请人将获得与课程长度相同的签证。课程完成后，如申请人决定留在香港，他们可以申请非本地毕业生移民安排 (IANG) 签证，将他们的学生签证再转换 12 个月，无需任何问题，无需雇主。但是，如果申请人决定要在香港逗留更长时间，并且是在12个月的延期内找到工作，薪水按当前市场水平计算，他们的签证可以再续签2年。
