Creating a nice and productive environment for work is one of the key elements of office happiness. And yet we often tend to ignore it and treat our offices/cubicles as temporary working stations rather than our homes away from home.

At centre o we strongly believe in the importance of creating a welcoming working environment and are happy to share a few tips:

– keep the office green (fresh plants and flowers help cleanse the heavily air-conditioned air)

– make it homey (keep a few meaningful tokens from home at the office to keep the atmosphere stress-free)

– book it up (keep a few inspirational books on the shelf to cheer you up in moments of extreme overworking)

– drink tea (a few sachets of herbal teas are a much better remedy for fatigue than espressos – but keep those as well)

– use bright colours (orange, green and yellow are stimulating and encouraging, helping you keep a high level of energy through the day – just ask us at centre o)

Centre O Connect Thirsts For Success

Restaurant and Bar HK 2014 opened a fabulous Food & Beverage trade industry event allowing many exciting features. It hosted thousands of brand new products from hundreds of suppliers, where there were free training sessions, intense competitions, networking of influential F&B professionals.

Centre O Connect took full advantage of this and quenched its sweet thirst for the great wine, beer, cider, coffee, and many more enlightening liquid products.

It was great to witness these “sip and learn” sessions (although centre O employees incorporated more of a “Sip and Sip” style) that were conducted by the audience and by wine connoisseurs on the tasting stage for free across its three-day event in addition to providing inspiration for wine matching. There was also a magnificent competition where expert baristas and siphonists from the region showing their coffee making skills in exciting championships. A series of adrenaline rushing through the audience (not from the coffee ironically) had them going as the final judging of the Hong Kong Siphonist Championship determined who possesses top skills in this vacuum-focused brewing method.

MAKE YOUR HOME A NICE PLACE TO VISIT

As social media is becoming the main marketing point for most businesses, let’s not forget the importance of Home pages.

So what should you include in the Home page?

You may want to consider the following:

Tell your story. An about us page is the perfect place to talk about your vision, mission statement, ethics and ideals of your company. So do not miss out on the opportunity to tell your customers and partners what you stand for.

Be personal. an about us page is like your home. So when welcoming people to it, be personal. Don’t be afraid to open up about your ideas, what got you started and more. People like to do business with people, so make them see the person you are.

Help people get back to you. Include contact information in a clear way and make it as easy as possible for people to get in touch with you.

And once again, make sure the Home page is really about you.

CENTER O CONNECT 渴望成功

CHOCOLATE AND THE IMPORTANCE OF LOGOS

Do you like chocolate? How about Hershey’s chocolate?

If your answer is yes, you should probably not look at the company’s new logo that has sparked a lively discussion on the Internet.

(a number of consumers believe the logo to be crap. Literally)

As the latest “hit” in logo drama, following the infamous case of Airbnb (see picture below), one of the most recognizable chocolate brands in the world has fallen into the trap of not seeing “the big logo picture”.

These may be good examples of how going into details and focusing too much on your own message can backfire.

And I guess the moral of the story is… no matter how much time, effort and resources you spend on conveying your vision –take a minute to step back and look at it. Really look.
