互联网名称和号码分配公司（internetcorporation）最近的一项决定可能改变了互联网的面貌，或者至少为其提供了一套新的配件。已经开放了 1,000 多个通用顶级域 (gTLD)（在 .com .net 和 .biz 范围之外。这意味着小型企业现在可以选择几乎量身定制的业务域：.florist、 .gallery、.repair、.homes、.technology、.coffee 等。

Power lunching has entered the business world and  become a universally accepted time-saver and efficiency-booster.

Well, there is a new trend in town and it’s marching in strongly and confidently into the offices, especially in tech industries. It’s called power-napping.

Giving employees a chance to get a quick Z in mid-day is becoming an important perk for progressive and dynamic companies and part of the modern office culture – just like coffee machines. And perhaps, even more beneficial, as a recent study has shown that taking a nap in the afternoon is more effective than caffeine.

If you had to choose one characteristic that is responsible for entrepreneurial success, which one would it be?

For me, it would definitely be pro-activity. Being proactive means that you are eager to influence and modify the environment around you. You believe that a situation can not be imposed on you and that it is within your power to make it what you want.

From an entrepreneurial perspective, it means that you are in almost total control of your business. Even though other factors may be in place (competition, economy, trends, etc), their influence is limited and the success of your project is in your hands.

So, what quality would you put as the top business success marker?

Have you seen “The Beach”? I would be surprised if you didn’t, but just in case  – the plot centres on a young American looking for the perfect place to live. His search brings him to a secret secluded island in Thailand, where the events unfold further.

But in this post, I would prefer not to focus on the plot itself or Leonardo DiCaprio’s brilliant acting.

This search for a perfect spot reminded me of the search for a perfect working environment and I wondered whether most of us have gone through the same thing.

There is no shortage of working mode options today: traditional office, Google-style office, coffee-shop, home-based office or even working on a tropical island.

And even though we all know that there is no such thing as perfection, we all aim to get as close to it as we can.

In the upcoming blog series, we will try to explore what factors make for a great working environment and how our ideas to work, office and working style have changed over the years.
