Chargeable Stamped Tenancy

Tenancy, Lease, Agreement for Rental and any other document of similar effect. Including their duplicate and counterpart are Tenancy Agreement. The Stamped Tenancy Agreement are chargeable via stamp duty. The landlord, tenant and any other persons signing the tenancy agreement are liable for payment of stamp duty. A legal Tenancy Agreement have to stamp within 30 days from the date of execution.

How to apply for a Stamp Tenancy Agreement

1/ Via the internet

The most convenient way is to submit a stamping application via the internet at the GOVHK.

2/ By Post

You can submit a stamping request in paper form [IRSD111(E)] by post. Also, you can attach a payment cheque to the application form. The cheque should payable to “The Government of the HKSAR” and cross.

3/ In person at the Stamp Office

You can visit the Stamp Office and present the original tenancy agreement for stamping over the counters. Please note that during the pandemic, the service hours may be varied.
