New way of perceive time

A study in the American Journal of Epidemiology found that those who worked 55 hours per week performed more poorly on some mental tasks than those who worked 40 hours per week.

People work best in intense 90-minute bursts followed by periods of recovery. Taken together, these findings suggest that with the right scheduling of bursts and rests, workers could get a similar amount of work done over a shorter period of time.

Moreover, there’s some anecdotal evidence that a four-day workweek might increase productivity. When you have a compressed workweek, you tend to focus on what’s important. Constraining time encourages quality time: better work gets done in four days than in five.

That said, the five-day workweek might already have so much cultural indolence that it can’t be changed. Most companies can’t just tell employees not to come in on Fridays, because they’d be at a disadvantage in a world that favors the five-day workweek.

There’s also the simple economics of the four-day week, as seen in Utah. When the lights are on four days instead of five, and employees need to make the commute two fewer times, costs are lowered.

It is really interesting to investigate different kinds of behavior on work, it could be a real revolution worldwide to reorganize working hours not only for shops but especially for offices.

Starting from Jan 1st 2016, instead of working on Saturdays, Centre O – Wanchai office – is keeping free on the weekends and let rest up its staff.

To be always available and present for its clients, we decided to extend our opening offices hours until 7 instead of 6 pm, to give the possibilities to clients to come in our offices without any rush or swearing in the traffic.

For us it is really important that our staff is happy, and happy means more productive: our priority are your needs.

Having the weekend completely off, they can enjoy time with their families and saving more energies to spend during the working hours.

No, You Shouldn’t Obsess Over Being Perfect – Especially When Starting Up

The definition of entrepreneur is all about a person who organizes and operates a business taking on greater than normal financial risks. If you are investing in your business and you can’t see an immediate return, it’s normal: keep working hard.

When your purpose is starting a business it’s easy to look at someone who is already doing it and try to reverse engineer their strategy.
In some cases, this is really useful. Learning from the experiences of successful people is a great way to accelerate your own learning curve.

The systems, habits, and strategies that successful people are using today are probably not the same ones they were using when they began. People might be influenced by a physical appearance but no one can argue with a solid work ethic.
Even if at first no one believes in you, people will learn to believe in your results.

Everyone of us can learn a lot from others: it doesn’t matter if someone is younger than us, has less experience but more studies or vice versa: listening and learning from others is always great and we should do it all the time.
Don’t worry if you don’t feel like a complete expert in the field yet. For the things you don’t yet know, you can find answers.

It could happened that comparing your situation to someone who is already successful can often make you feel like you lack the required resources to get started at all. If you look at their optimal setup, it can be really easy to convince yourself that you need to buy new things or learn new skills or meet new people before you can even take the first step toward your goals.

Some people believe that overcoming the fear of failure is entirely dependent on a person’s willingness and motivation to change. This should be a good incentive, not something that makes give you up. There will be plenty of time for optimization later.

When you’re an entrepreneur, it’s so easy to get obsessed with optimal. This is especially true at the start. For example, if you want to build your own website, don’t be obsessed with several type of complicated logo.
Your “logo” is just you: your name, your qualities and competences.

Great gear can make your life much easier on the road, but it’s not required.
You don’t need new shoes to start running.
You don’t need new cooking bowls to start eating healthy.
Those things might be optimal, but they are not needed in the beginning. You will be considered hasty.

Some people will think that you’re crazy to start a new business and they will be correct.
The safe and rational thing to do would be to never take a risk and work for someone else for the rest of your life.

It’s terrifying to take the risk of offering your skills to the world, wondering if they’ll be valued. Even if you won’t start your business with an established audience of people ready to throw money at you, don’t let visions of what is optimal prevent you from getting started in the first place.

An imperfect start can always be improved, but obsessing over a perfect plan will never take you anywhere on its own.
If you approach your business with joy and you believe in your capacities, in case you will fall don’t worry: you can set it up right again.

Come talk to us at info@centreo.hk or sales@centreo.hk if you are planning to start your business.

NEW WAY OF PERCEIVE TIME

A small reminder about Company Incorporation: basic rules and advises for shareholders and directors

A small reminder about Company Incorporation: basic rules and advises for shareholders and directors

There are some basic rules to follow if you are going to create your own business in Hong Kong even if, to do it here, it is easier and faster compared to other countries.

Anybody can form a Hong Kong Limited company.

A limited company is a legal entity made of up directors, secretaries, and shareholders (members).
The director is responsible for the day to day activities of the company.
The secretary is responsible for general government duties such as making sure annual returns are filed on time, notifying when there are any changes of the company, addresses change, etc.
The shareholder owns the company through holding of shares.
Hong Kong limited companies do not require a local shareholder or a director, they can all be living outside Hong Kong.

The minimum is to have one director as the shareholder as well.
A non-Hong Kong resident can be appointed as a director and as shareholder.
Shareholders can be of any nationality, be resident anywhere in the world and meetings can take place everywhere.

The Company Ordinance requires that an individual must be over the age of 18 years old to hold shares in a Hong Kong company limited.
Once a client of ours was opening his company and he would like to make his family an integral part of the business; when he asked us if his children of 3 years old could own some shares in the company, it is not possible to, he can include in the: he can include only his wife in his business but not his child as the child is below 18 years.

A Limited Company is the most commonly-used company type; the owner can take advantage of all the tax benefits and concessions available to any fully incorporated business.
For limited companies incorporated in Hong Kong, the company name must not be the same as a name appearing in the index of company names kept by the Companies Registry.

You may conduct a company name search free of charge before deciding which will be your company ones.

You cannot use a name that is already in use or in the process of being registered. Names already in use can be found in the Hong Kong Company Registry.
If you don’t find your company name in the Registry, it is free to use.

We will be glad to help you, for any inquiries don’t hesitate to contact us!

Watch out for your Visa expiry date

china-visa-stamp

Everyday we manage many situations about Visa application and we collaborate with many offices for immigration procedures, we hear lots of different stories on China Visa.

In every countries to follow immigration rules strictly is the first thing we suggest to do or it could make you pass through very uncomfortable adventures.
Do not overstay.

This seems obvious, and although the punishments vary in severity, overstaying your visa at all may jeopardize any future visa applications. In most cases, you will get a written warning saying that you cannot overstay your visa again within a given period of time.

It happened that a US client of ours, living in China as tourist for more than 1 year overstayed twice in Tianjin. His first overstayed was back in May 2015. The officer was nice enough to give him an extension to Aug 8th 2015. However in August 8th, he only went into a random agency in Tianjin to ask for another Visa extension. The agent was too busy, that they asked him to come back on Monday August 11th instead of advising the US client to leave the country in the same night (August 8th).
They also said to him that 9th and 10th were weekends, no one will check his Visa status at all.

He came back home and without any worries he probably came out with his girlfriend to have a very good Italian pizza that evening.

On Monday afternoon August 11th, the client went back to the same agent. It was shocked for him that the agent took him to the police station and report of overstayed getting a fine of 4000 RMB and also to sign of a Chinese report that he could not read at all. He didn’t know the content of the report and gave his fingerprint, probably nobody (neither him certainly!) will never know: he signed for 60 days of prison in case he would overstayed once more.

He exited China and came to Hong Kong, thinking everything was fine and he can apply for an urgent tourist China Visa here. He went into the Embassy. The officers saw he was overstayed in China twice within 2015. They refused his application and told him not to go back for any application.

He was confused and came to us. After a few calls with the Embassy, basically the Embassy saw that Chinese report that he signed on August 11th that he was overstayed and can be sent to prison for 60 days. The Embassy only work via what the Visa label says, so this US citizen is not able to apply for any China Visa with the same passport again.

Be really careful if you are going to enter into the VISA’s territory!!

It could be full of tricks!!

Centre O Connect is at your complete disposal to help you in case you have any inquiries.
